It weakens my heart to say that a great friend of mine, local Detroit Artist Mary Laredo Herbeck, passed away the On October 1st, 2010. This is such a terrible, horrid news. She was a great friend to me, Alhan, my mother, and everyone. This weakens my heart deeply. And to think that we were gonna visit her at Oakwood this week.
A beautiful homage to an even more beautiful Mary was made at St. Anne's on October 7th, 2010. Mary, you will forever be an inspiration for your strength, love, hard work, and innovative artwork. I am honored to have met you and thank you for being a co-worker, mentor, inspiration and friend.
Rest in Peace Mary. You will be missed.
